Information, not instruction
We explain what research and public health bodies say. We do not tell individual readers what to take, buy or do, and we do not diagnose.
Zandrel is a small independent publication in South Jakarta. We write about food, movement, sleep, stress and preventive care for men aged 30 and above, in plain language and with sources.
Zandrel began in 2024 when a group of writers and a general practitioner in Kebayoran Baru noticed a pattern. Men in their thirties and forties asked similar questions at work and at family gatherings: whether a tired afternoon was normal, which check-up to take, what a cholesterol figure meant. Reliable answers existed, but they were scattered across clinical documents and wellness material that was not always careful.
We decided to collect and explain that information in one place, in a calm tone and with the limits made clear. The name Zandrel was chosen as a coined word with no medical meaning attached, which suits a publication that wants readers to think rather than follow instructions.
The publication is based at Jalan Bunga Raya No. 25, Kebayoran Baru, and is written mainly in English for readers across Indonesia who are comfortable reading in the language.

Each article lists the guidelines and studies it relies on, with a preference for the Indonesian Ministry of Health, WHO and professional societies.
We avoid exaggeration and dramatic claims. If evidence is uncertain or mixed, the article says so.
Food, climate, health services and social expectations in Indonesia differ from those in the countries where most health writing originates.
